Winter Working Campaign
Introduction
Seasonal months can be dangerous, primarily due to adverse weather conditions creating a harsh working environment and our accident statistics often reflect this. Strong winds, freezing temperatures and wet conditions all make slips, trips and falls more likely – and more likely to be serious when they do happen. The shorter days can result in poor visibility of hazards but also the cold mornings and shorter days can leave you feeling fatigued and struggling to get out of bed mentally. Snow, Ice and fog make driving more difficult for our own transport operations but also increases the risk posed by working next to live traffic. Through good planning we can reduce the risks and this campaign is all about raising the awareness of winter working and providing toolkit of free information for all suppliers to use and promote.
