Vehicle Roadworthiness
Introduction
It is essential that vehicles travelling on the strategic road network are in a good state of repair to avoid breakdowns and failures that could harm our workforce and/or the travelling public. These documents set out the roadworthiness requirements for all those who need to travel on or interface with the strategic road network whilst engaged on National Highways contracts. The objective of this document is to raise standards within the industry to ensure safer drivers, safer vehicles, and safer journeys on the strategic road network. This will be achieved through the implementation of best practice, innovation, and education to ensure vehicles are safe and legal to operate.
